Ships and the Like

Late in July I started a small (8"x5" or so) sketchbook just for vehicles. All marker sketches overlayed with pen. Taking inspiration from Homeworld and Khang Le. These are the more presentable ones.
Ordered chronologically. Try guessing which one is a John Park rip-off!

Figures

A few quick (5-7 mins) figures from earlier this summer.
I've had crits since and know most of what's wrong with them, but I'm not going to be doing any new ones anytime soon, so I'm posting these anyway.

Head

Trying things out some more. Fun failures.

Inky

Made a new brush and decided to try it out. A bit too crowded methinks.

Castle

Trying to figure out color and light. And I've miles to go before I sleep.

Cars

Trying things out.

Logos

A couple of logos I did for a shipping company in Dubai. I like the first one!

Chicken-Dino

A winged chicken-t-rex thing.
My first painting this summer, and my second serious one ever.
I did the sketch trying to recapture the sense of motion in my friend Janet's drawings--'trying' being the operative word.

Viscom 1 Final

This, my final for Viscom 1, is probably the only piece of work from my first two terms at Art Center that I'd still show.
Two weeks prior to the final, I designed and drew out the vehicle by hand; then, for the following week, to adjust the view, improve the design (after class crits), and clean everything up, I built it up in Google SketchUp then traced over it by pen, focusing on line thickness and quality. The last week was just spent further adjusting the design and cleaning everything up.
